Lecturers at the country's Institutes of Technology say their planned strike has nothing to do with pay rises.

Members of the TUI union are threatening to walk off the job on the first Wednesday in February 3rd in a row over increased workloads.

Lecturers also claim that teaching contracts are leaving them with little job security and increased pressure.
