Anyone who's lived with an all glass iPhone will know that Apple products can be delicate - Apple Watches are now shipping in regions where pre-orders were available, but how durable is this new piece of kit?
After splashing out on a new device the last thing you want to do is to drop it...
Unfortunately, some users have had problems with their watches straight out of the gate. Mashable has curated a gallery of broken Apple Watches - this image uploaded to Weibo is a prime example.
While this watch looks like its taken some abuse, there are also reports of a more worrying phenomenon - small cracks appearing on watch faces without the owners dropping them, or even remembering hitting the watch off of anything.
Maybe don't get the glass one. Zero idea how this happened. No hard knocks or bangs. pic.twitter.com/Yw2nYoZNEd

Chris Welch writes for the tech news site The Verge - and reports to have no idea how this damage was done.
Another. Almost like a stress fracture? Bummer. pic.twitter.com/IfltJO8QNb

But he seems to be happy overall.
Yeah. Apple Watch is worth it for the health stuff alone. This is going to be fun.

Here's another user reporting a random crack.
Without memory of ever bumping it (even gently), a scratch has shown up on my Apple Watch's sapphire glass. Weird. pic.twitter.com/BMDtLAglnF

Unlike a phone or a tablet - given the condensed size of the Apple Watch screen, it seems that it will be almost impossible to use the smartwatch if the screen breaks.
That said - in this 'torture' scratch test the Apple Watch looks to be very durable - it takes a lot of damage before eventually smashing.
