Tens of thousands of holidaymakers are facing flight cancellations and disruptions today as French air traffic controllers go on strike again.

It is the 13th strike in 14 weeks and will affect flights into and out of France - as well as those that use French airspace.

The EU is being urged to act to bring an end to the strikes, by requiring the unions to engage in binding arbitration.

Aer Lingus has cancelled eight flights as a result of today's strike, while Ryanair says it has had to cancel more than 100 flights. 10 flights to or from Ireland are among Ryanair's cancellations.

Tens of thousands of other passengers are expected to face delays today as a result of the industrial action.

Customers are advised to check the status of their flight with their airline before travelling to the airport.

Ryanair's Chief Marketing Officer is Kenny Jacobs, who says "enough is enough".

"There's no better thing [the European Commission] could do for European consumers than stop air traffic controllers from holding Europe's skies to ransom," he suggested.
