Traffic on Aer Lingus and its regional subsidiary fell by 2 percent in February - it carried 627,000 passengers, down from 640,000 in the same month in 2014.
The airline's mainline traffic fell by 0.9 percent to 553,000.
Long haul business rose by 21.7 percent to 56,000 from 46,000, but its larger short haul business took a hit, down by 2.9 percent to 497,000 - a drop of 15,000.
Its load factor increased by 1.9 percent to 69.2 percent in February - when Ryanair published its figures yesterday the corresponding figure was 89 percent.
Minister for Transport Paschal Donohoe has confirmed that IAG representatives met with Government officials yesterday to discuss the group’s proposed offer for Aer Lingus. The two parties are due to meet again next week.
Irish Times report that sources have told it that IAG could revamp its offer for the airline to tackle the Government's concerns regarding jobs and connectivity.
Aer Lingus has also announced a new UK route - Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Stobart Air, will offer flights between Dublin Airport and Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield from May 29th.
