A woman in her 70's is receiving treatment in hospital following a shooting incident in Dublin last night.
It happened on Oliver Plunkett Avenue in Monkstown at around 11pm.
Gardai say the woman was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries, which are described as non life threatening.
It's believed that the woman was shot while she answered a call to her home.
Gardaí are trying to establish if she was shot through the door or after she opened it when the gunman saw her.
No arrests have been made as of yet and Gardai say that investigations are ongoing.
Superintendent Martin Fitzgerald from Dun Laoghaire Garda station has made this appeal for information.
