10. Jimmy Boyd - "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" 

This recording from 1952 was by Jimmy Boyd when he was just 13 and reached #1 on the Billboard charts in December 1952. The song was commissioned by Saks Fifth Avenue to promote the store's Christmas card for the year. The song describes a scene where a child creeps down from his/her bedroom to see his/her mother kissing "Santa Claus."

Boyd's record was condemned by the Roman Catholic Church in Boston when it was released on the grounds that it mixed kissing with Christmas, ignoring the fact that mistletoe, under which many couples kiss, is traditionally hung in many homes during the Christmas season. Boyd was photographed meeting with the Archdiocese to explain the song. After the meeting, the ban was lifted.

9. Lou Monte - "Dominick the Donkey" 

"Dominick the Donkey" is a Christmas song written by Ray Allen, Sam Saltzberg and Wandra Merrell, and was recorded by Lou Monte in 1960.The song describes a donkey who helps Santa Claus bring presents to children in Italy. The song was re-released onto Amazon on September 26, 2011. The spelling of "Dominick" was modified to "Dominic" for the re-release.

The song was listed at number 14 in Billboard's "Bubbling under the Hot 100" list in December 1960. The song received little airplay at the time due to the perception of its novelty date and some Italian lyrics, but was quite popular in Italian households. The studio production for this recording was financed by the Gambino crime family, one of the infamous "Five Families" of the New York Mafia. 

8. Dan Fogelberg - "Same Old Lang Syne"

"Same Old Lang Syne" is a song sung by Dan Fogelberg released as a single in 1980. It was also included on his 1981 album The Innocent Age. The song is a narrative ballad told in the first person and tells the story of two long-ago lovers meeting by chance in a grocery store on Christmas Eve. The song peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and is now frequently played during the holiday season and is integrated with traditional Christmas songs.

7. Neil Diamond - "Cherry Cherry Christmas"

"Cherry Cherry Christmas" is a song written and performed by Neil Diamond, and is the lead song off of A Cherry Cherry Christmas Album. The Song notably makes references to other Neil Diamond hits like Cherry, Cherry, Holly Holy, Song Sung Blue, Pretty Amazing Grace, If You Know What I Mean, I'm a Believer, Red Red Wine and Sweet Caroline.

5. New Kids on the Block - "Funky, Funky Xmas"

Funky, Funky Xmas is a single from 'Merry, Merry Christmas', the third album by pop act New Kids on the Block. It was released in the United States by Columbia Records on September 19, 1989. It is a Christmas album, featuring seasonal songs, both cover versions and original material. Released at a time when the group was peaking, it went double platinum and spawned the top ten single, "This One's for the Children." On October 14, 2008 the album was released to iTunes.

4. The Cheeky Girls - "Boys and Girls (Xmas Time Love)"

The Cheeky Girls are a female bubblegum pop/europop duo based in Great Britain. They are identical twins from Transylvania, Romania. They have been active since 2002 when they auditioned in Popstars: The Rivals. Their songs include "The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)", "Take Your Shoes Off", "(Hooray, Hooray!) It's a Cheeky Holiday!", "Have a Cheeky Christmas", "Cheeky Flamenco" and "Boys and Girls (Xmas Time Love)". They released another single named "The Farmyard Hokey", but it did not chart. They also have one album, "Party Time as In My Mind (Is A Different World - A Cheeky One)". 

3. Clay Aiken - "Merry Christmas with Love"

Merry Christmas with Love is Clay Aiken's first Christmas album, released on November 16, 2004. It was certified platinum and was recognized by Billboard as the best-selling Christmas/holiday album of 2004 and the best-selling Christian album of 2005. 

Clay Aiken recorded Merry Chrismas with Love as the title track of this album. It is a song about an older woman who is alone for Christmas, and has given up hope for being happy when a group of carolers comes to cheer her up by singing, "Merry Christmas with love." She embraces them and joins in at the end.

2. John Denver - "Please, Daddy (Don't Get Drunk This Christmas)"

Please, Daddy (Don't Get Drunk this Christmas) appears on three John Denver albums, and was first released on the Farewell Andromeda album, and has also been released on the Rocky Mountain Christmas and Country Classics albums.

1. NewSong, "The Christmas Shoes"

The Christmas Shoes" is a Christmas-themed song by the Christian vocal group NewSong. The song was released through Benson Records as a bonus track on their 2000 album Sheltering Tree, and it reached No. 31 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. 

The story follows the songs narrator as he is standing in a checkout line with some last-minute shopping on Christmas Eve, but is not feeling the holiday spirit. The customer in front of him is a little boy dressed in wornout clothes whose only item is a pair of women's shoes. The boy tells the cashier that he wishes to buy the shoes for his ill mother so that she may look her best if she meets Jesus later that night, as she is dying of cancer. The cashier informs the boy that he does not have enough money to buy the shoes, which prompts the boy to ask the narrator for help saying that although his family is poor, his mother always did her best to make Christmas special for her family. The narrator pays for the shoes, and as the boy thanks him and walks away, the narrator realises that the little boy helped him understand the true meaning of Christmas.
