An armed standoff between an man and gardaí in the Kiltipper area of Tallaght in Dublin has ended.
Following on-going contact by garda negotiators the man left the house unarmed and was taken into custody.
During the incident, a number of shots were fired at gardaí.

It is understood the man, aged in his 40s and believed to be armed, barricaded himself into a house in the Deerpark Manor housing estate at around 2.30am this morning.
He has now been taken to Tallaght garda station where he is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
A firearm was recovered by gardai and has been sent for a ballistic examination.
No injuries have been reported.
The scene at and the surrounding roads at deerpark square remain sealed off and a garda cordon is still in place.
