At least five people have died after a gunman opened fire at a music festival in Mexico.
Mexican police have confirmed a gunman killed at least five people and wounded 15 others at a nightclub in the Playa Del Carmen resort during the BPM festival.
Staff from Mixmag music magazine confirmed shots had been fired at the Blue Parrot club, during the last night of the festival.
In a statement on Facebook, BPM organisers said: "The violence began on 12th street in front of the club and three members of the BPM security team were among those whose lives were lost while trying to protect patrons inside the venue.
"The BPM Festival has been working closely with the local authorities (Seguridad Publica / Policia Turistica) throughout the festival to ensure public safety and security for all visitors. We are overcome with grief over this senseless act of violence and we are cooperating fully with local law enforcement and government officials as they continue their investigation," the statement adds.
The shooting was originally reported across social media, with Scottish DJ Jackmaster tweeting to warn anyone attending the festival to stay in their hotels.
Someone has come into the club in Playa Del Carmen and opened fire. 4-5 dead and many wounded. Stay in ur fuckin hotel if you're here at BPM

Initial reports also suggested shots were fired at the Jungle nightclub in the region, but those on the ground say there does not appear to have been a second shooting.
Thankfully a second shooting did not happen at The Jungle. But if we had arrived 15-20 min earlier at #BlueParrot it easily could've been us
