Searches are continuing in Galway city to locate a 21-year-old soldier who has not been seen since last week.
Private Ben Garrett, from County Mayo, was last seen leaving Carbon nightclub on Eglinton Street in Galway city in the early hours of Thursday morning.
He is described as 6 ft in height, of athletic build with short brown hair.
He was last seen wearing dark coloured jeans and a light blue Hollister jumper.
Gardaí, military personnel and members of the public are combining efforts in a bid to find the whereabouts of Mr Garrett.
Captain Damien Kelleher of the Irish Defence Forces is involved in the search operation. He spoke to Jonathan Healy on Newstalk Lunchtime about the search operation.
Captain Kelleher said that the search is currently focused on the Galway Bay coastline.
"At the moment, we have over 100 personnel from the Defence Forces searching the area, and speaking to gardaí there are over 100 members of the public searching as well," he explained.
"As you can imagine, the family is in shock, but are coping well considering all that has happened. They wish to thank everyone who has and is currently helping with the search for Ben," he added.
