Two people have been charged in the UK after a one-year-old boy was shot by a pellet fired from an air weapon.

Harry Studley is still said to be in a critical condition in hospital after receiving a serious head injury on Friday.

The incident happened in Hartcliffe on the outskirts of Bristol.

Police investigating the incident say a man (24) and woman (23) have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

In a statement released yesterday, Harry's parents Amy Allen and Edward Studley said: “We very much appreciate the help and support of our family, friends and local community at this very difficult time.

"We are concentrating our focus on our son Harry’s recovery and would appreciate if we could have our privacy respected in order to allow us to do so."
