Netflix just released a handy make-and-do guide allowing you to turn your subscription into your own personal fitness coach.
As part of its Make It initiative, born out of the company's annual Hack Day which encourages people to undertake 'Netflix-related projects', it "connects to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth and uses an accelerometer to monitor your activity level during your workout." If you start slowing down, "your selected Netflix character will deliver motivational words to keep you going."
And the kicker? "If you’re watching during a workout, your coach will pause your show every time you stop moving."
The service comes with 14 different character voices, including Bojack Horseman, Terry Crews and (Unbreakable) Kimmy Schmidt.
Don't expect it to be hitting shelves anytime soon though - this seems solely like a DIY project for now. Some assembly of the Arduino-based device is required, with Netflix helpfully listing all the components needed on its website. Soldering skills? Also a must.
