The website of the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) has been shut down after a suspected hacking.
The NTMA say it has temporarily suspended access to its own website.
But it says the website is hosted offsite “with no connection to the NTMA’s IT systems or operations.”
The NTMA say this is a precautionary measure after it detected “an unauthorised attempt to publish content on its website” from a remote source.

In a statement, the NTMA add: “The agency's standard IT protocols took effect as soon as the unauthorised access attempt was detected.
“This suspension has no impact on the NTMA's IT systems or operations.
“Access to the website will be restored as soon as possible.”
The agency provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government.
