This is Graham, and unlike you or me, he has a good chance of surviving a car crash, should he ever be involved in one.

Of course, Graham would never be involved in a car crash, because Graham doesn't actually exist.

He was created by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and Melbourne artist Patricia Piccinini, with the intention of showing what humanity would have to look like in order to survive a car-crash.

Graham has no neck, a flat face, and has "evolved" to possess a type of air-bags in his chest, in order to survive high-speed collisions.

TAC CEO Joe Calafiore stated: "Cars have evolved a lot faster than humans, and Graham helps us understand why we need to improve every aspect of our roads system to protect ourselves from our own mistakes. [...] People can survive running at full pace into a wall, but when you’re talking about collisions involving vehicles, the speeds are faster, the forces are greater, and the chances of survival are much slimmer."

You can see Graham up close and personal in the State Library of Victoria in Australia, or if you don't happen to live down under, you can get a look at the 360 degree camera of the model right here.
