Gardaí are investigating a fatal stabbing which occurred at a house on Harmonstown Road, Artane, Dublin 5 at approximately this evening. 

A man in his 40s received apparent stab wounds and was removed to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination. The Garda Technical Bureau is scheduled to attend the scene later.

One man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with this investigation and is currently detained at Clontarf Garda Station.

Investigations are continuing.
