Gardaí have released a man they had been questioning over the death of another man.
The remains of the 64-year-old deceased were found in the mountains on the Dublin-Wicklow border on Friday morning.
His body was discovered close to a forest track on Ballinascorney Hill in Brittas.
The man, who was local to the area, had been reported missing on Thursday.
He had left his home to walk the family dog at around 6.30am that morning but failed to return.
Preliminary findings by state pathologist Linda Mulligan indicate he died as a result of an assault.
The 41-year-old man arrested on Saturday in connection with the murder investigation has since been released without charge.
Superintendent Peter Duff, who is leading the probe, said over the weekend that gardaí are keeping an open mind as to the motive of the killing.
