Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man died when the car he was driving left the road in Co Cork.
It happened shortly after 7.00am on Sunday on the Old Dublin Road (R639) near J18 (Sallybrook/Glanmire) off the M8 motorway.
It is believed the car left the road and struck a fence.
The man, understood to be aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicle was involved.
The man, who has yet to be formally identified, was removed to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital.
Garda forensic collision investigators are examining the car and the crash site.
