A man in his 30s has been arrested following a guns and ammunition seizure on Dublin's northside.

Five firearms and assorted bullets were found at Quarry Road in Cabra last month.

Two sub-machine guns, three hand guns, two silencers and the ammunition were seized after a car was searched.

A man was arrested by Gardaí attached to the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Special Crime Task Force this morning. 

He is being detained at Finglas Garda Station.
