Unemployment reached an eight-year low last month, with the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate hitting to 7.7% in October.
This was down slightly from 7.9% in September, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
The number of unemployed in October was 168,800, a decrease of 29,700 on the same month in 2015.
The CSO also revealed that the jobless rate for men was 9% in October, down from 10.8% during the same period last year. The rate for women fell from 7.3% to 6.2%.
The youth unemployment rate (people aged between 15 and 24 years) was 15.1% in October, down from 15.9% in September.
The current Eurozone average unemployment rate is roughly 10%.
