St. Patrick's Day celebrations are taking place all across the country today.
The theme for this year's festival in Dublin is 'Ireland You Are...' - looking to explore Ireland today and celebrate its "culturally diverse, complex and brave society".

Parade pageant companies from all over Ireland have each responded to the festival theme. There is a strong international element also, with events celebrating Ireland’s friendships and cultural impact throughout the world.
Irish sailor and Olympic silver medalist Annalise Murphy (27), from Dublin was this year's Grand Marshall. The young sports star was chosen in recognition of her outstanding achievement at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, her contribution to Irish sport and her courage and determination to succeed on the world stage in her sport.

Speaking about the Festival, CEO of St. Patrick’s Festival, Susan Kirby said: "Every year we continue to be blown away by the calibre of the performances at the parade, and this year is no different. The Festival Parade is a true showcase of the artistic talent we have here in Ireland, talent that is showcased on a global stage today as the parade is streamed live internationally."
