A judge has ruled that both sides are liable for their legal costs following a failed legal challenge by the Green Party against RTÉ.
The party mounted a legal challenge to a decision by the broadcaster not to invite their leader, Eamon Ryan, to take part in a seven-way leaders' debate ahead of the election.
But RTÉ said the Greens did not meet the requirement that a party have at least three TDs in the outgoing Dáil.
Ms Justice Marie Baker had found in favour of RTÉ - saying there was nothing unfair, irrational or disproportionate about the requirement.
However, today Judge Baker found that the issues raised by the Greens were important - and that there was some benefit to the public and the media.
She also found that RTÉ had fully engaged with the Greens throughout the process and praised them for their litigation behaviour.
Accordingly, Judge Baker made no order for costs.
The legal action was brought by Tom Kivlehan, who failed to win a seat as a Green candidate in Dublin Mid-West.
Green Party leader Eamon Ryan, who has a seat in the new Dáil, says he is relieved.
