Gardaí believe a woman accused of murdering her colleague in Wicklow was "actively pursuing" him in the lead-up to his death.

Marta Herda of Pairc na Saile, Emoclew Road, in Arklow, Co Wicklow, denies intentionally driving them into the sea in March 2013.

During one of her final interviews with gardaí, she admitted calling Csaba Orsas three times on the morning of March 26th.

Ms Herda initially told gardaí he got into her car outside her house, but accepted during this interview that she called to his place.

Detective Sergeant Fergus O’Brien put it to her that she lured him into the car and deliberately drove them off the South Quay in Arklow.

She accepted she knew he could not swim.

He asked why the driver’s window was rolled down when the car was recovered from the harbour and she said she couldn’t remember.

Ms Herda said she did not mean to go into the water and described the accusation as “scary”.

In an earlier interview, she said Csaba was in love with her and described him as a “nuisance” but said she wished he was still here, and that she thinks about his death every day.

Closing speeches are due to begin this afternoon.
