Gardaí have arrested three men in connection with an armed raid at a post office in Dublin 8 earlier today.
At about 12.30 this afternoon three masked men, armed with knives, a crowbar and other implements, entered the public area of a post office at Leonard's Corner.
The men threatened customers and staff but failed to open the safe and fled on foot.
Gardaí from Kevin Street, along with the Divisional Crime Task Force and Detective Units, searched a flat a short distance away from the post office. During the search gardaí arrested three men in their 20s.
The men are detained at Kevin street and Pearse street garda stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
