The Garda Commissioner has launched a fresh appeal for information on the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe three years ago today.
Garda Donohoe was shot dead outside Lordship Credit Union in Co Louth on the night of the 25th of January 2013.
Nóirín O'Sullivan says Adrian Donohoe was the very embodiment of dedication to the community and the impact of his death is still felt in Dundalk.
Marking the third anniversary of the shooting, Commissioner O'Sullivan says An Garda Síochána is committed to ensuring his killers are brought to justice, with the PSNI providing 'extensive assistance' in the investigation.
"The smallest piece of information could be significant," the Commissioner said in a statement. "There are still people out there who know who the killers are. It is never too late to do the right thing. Any information provided will be treated sensitively".
Anyone with information is being asked to contact Dundalk Garda Station at 042-938-8470 or the Garda Confidential Number at 1800-666-111.
