Fans of Love/Hate will have to wait to find out if the show will come back for another season.

The programme had an explosive finale last night on RTE, leaving viewers guessing who's dead and who could have survived.

Head of drama at RTE Jane Gogan says the sixth series has been put into development as is normal procedure with any programme.

However, she says no decision will be taken until creator Stuart Carolan gives the go-ahead:

Just last year, series writer Carolan promised that season five would be the last, however he has not ruled out a sixth season of the successful show.

However, many have questioned where the show can go now if, in fact, it is without its lead character in the form of King Nidge.
