To plug his new book, star of the 'IT Crowd' Richard Ayoade, appeared on Channel 4 News last night.

Instead of talking about his newly published 'Ayoade on Ayoade,' the comedian diverted to the discussion to Mel Brook's 2,000 year old man, his position as a role model for Norwegians, and his nasal voice.

Clearly not a fan of TV interviews, he compares them to a commute:

"I don't dislike interviews, it's like commuting, I accept it as a part of this but no-one loves it."

He also referenced a fraught conversation between his interviewer Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Quentin Tarantino early last year. Tarantino was unhappy at being asked about the link between cinematic and real violence and refused to answer the question, saying, "I'm not your slave and you're not my master. You can't make me dance to your tune. I'm not your monkey."

As Guru-Murthy concludes the interview by thanking Ayoade, he replies, "Don't thank me, I've done nothing for you."
