The US President has used a racist slur to lash out at Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren.

It is not the first time Donald Trump has referred to Senator Elizabeth Warren as ‘Pocahontas’ in reference to her Native American background.

In a tweet this morning President Trump said “Pocahontas just stated that the Democrats, lead by the legendary Crooked Hillary Clinton, rigged the Primaries!”

“Let’s go FBI & Justice Dept.”

The president was referring to Senator Warren’s assertion that the race for the Democratic presidential nominee was rigged in favour of his one-time rival Hillary Clinton.

The senator was responding to claims from the former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile that the Clinton campaign had control over the day-to-day operations at the Democratic National Committee.

She said the Clinton campaign's control over the party was a “real problem” adding that it was up to Democrats to hold the party accountable.

President Trump regularly referred to Senator Warren as as ‘Pocahontas’ on the campaign trail.

He has previously claimed that he regrets using the nick-name because “it is a tremendous insult to Pocahontas.”
