On this evening Hard Shoulder, Ivan Yates discussed the sentencing of Former Irish Times sports journalist Tom Humphries who has been jailed for two-and-a-half years for grooming a fourteen year old girl before sexually abusing her.

Ivan spoke with Sports Writer Ewan McKenna about the length of the sentence and if Tom Humphries position as a popular sports journalist has had an impact on the way the media have been reacting to today’s verdict.

Ewan McKenna spoke out about his disappointment that the focus has seemed to be on what Tom was rather then on what he did.
