When it comes to surfing the web, it's easy to get lost at sea. So let Moncrieff's regular guest Darragh Doyle, a man who knows a thing or two about what's weird and wonderful online, steer you in the right direction.

You can listen back to his full segment below, but here's what you need to know from the Internet this week...

  • An opening video...

Familiar to people no doubt from the Eir ad on screens this year, here’s the Super Céilí remix of Symphonics Fionnghuala. Super Ceili of course being responsible for one of the viral hits of the year last weekend, they jumped on the enthusiasm for Teresa Mannion giving us one of the more memorable videos of December.

I don’t think I can ever hear the words don’t make unnecessary journeys, don’t take risks on treacherous roads without hearing this.

  • Mustard - get an extra shift quickly

Mustard.ie is Short Term Staffing, sorted. It is completely free for jobseekers and it's open to everybody looking to pick up extra shifts in everything from Events, to Film and TV, Hospitality and more, particularly catering staff, bar staff and those on events and performances.

You tell Mustard what you want to do, and they'll send you job offers in your area. It’s comparable to an Uber or Hailo for jobseekers, with shift offers in your area sent to your phone.

  • WhatifI - reconnect with people that shared social experiences

Whatifi remembers all the places you visit on a night out. The next day your timeline screen refreshes and shows you all the places you visited the previous day. Users can then tap on a venue they attended and view all the other users that were there at the same time.

They can then click on a user profile and send a chat request which appears as a push notification on the receiver’s phone.

Big Bang Data, an exhibition at Somerset House, London, which opened 3 December, explores the effect of the explosion of data generated by people’s online activity in their everyday lives.

Part of this is I Know Where Your Cat Lives, mapping pictures of cats posted on social media by their owners to within eight metres, using publicly accessible geographical location data. It’s a website which shows a photo from a cat on Instagram, shows on a map where the photo was taken.

Spotify users may know you can now check your year in music on Spotify. It also has shown who the most played artists were around the world - Ed Sheeran, Hozier, Calvin Harris, The Weeknd, Sam Smith all top Ireland’s charts and you can see what albums and playlists topped the charts too. You don’t need a Spotify account to do so.

  • Spotipart - create a link to a specific part of a Spotify Song

Spotipart lets you create a link to a specific part of a Spotify song. A simple hidden feature in Spotify, but strangely not available anywhere in the current UI of the Spotify desktop app.

  1.  Paste your favorite Spotify track URI and adjust the slider.
  2. Share the link in the address bar with your friends!
  3. Your friends can open up the track at the given time, Spotify (Dekstop app) will start playing the track instantly.

Final Spotify link for now - this is a simple website to convert your Spotify playlists to YouTube playlists. Something to stick on the computer or to see the music video for that song you’ve only ever listened to.

  • And finally...

A class for foreign students in speaking the Dublin lingo, from Foil, Arms and Hog - special kudos for the pronouns on yi, you, yiz, you iz and dem lot.
