Will going to bed naked help you sleep during the heatwave?
As Ireland has sizzled in temperatures hovering at close to record levels, people have been forced to adjust their behaviour accordingly.
Some have had troubles sleeping and sleep coach Tom Coleman said there are a number of important reasons why you should ditch the pyjamas.
“It reduces your body temperature,” he explained on Moncrieff.
“It helps the natural cooling process of the body and that's very much linked to sleep.
“Also, your skin health, it can help bonding with your partner, more skin to skin contact - so that can really help that.
“Your sleep quality is going to improve and maybe how fast you fall asleep - people are struggling with this heat.”
However, in the current heatwave, he warned it might be advisable to change your sheets more often if you do decide to sleep naked.
“Your pyjamas or bedwear, they're not absorbing the sweat or the moisture that we produce,” he said.
“So, that may be one downside, but there are many upsides to sleeping naked.”
