John Lewis, the British department store will enter the Irish market later in this year through a partnership deal with Arnotts.
It will occupy part of two floors of the iconic Dublin store, with 2,000 sq ft of retail space from October according to The Irish Times.
Up to 700 items from John Lewis own-brand and lifestyle and household ranges will be on offer.
John Lewis products are also expected to be available through the Arnotts website.
This is the first major announcement from Arnotts since it was acquired by Selfridges.
Donald McDonald, managing director of Arnotts has indicated that the arrival of more new brands at the store will be announced during the next number of months.
There has been speculation that the UK chain has been planning a move across the Irish Sea for some time, with reports suggesting that it was interested in taking over Clery's before it closed.
It has also been linked with a major presence in an extension to Dundrum Town Centre in south Dublin.
Selfridges is expected to reveal details of its future plans for Arnotts, its controlling shareholder Galen Weston is already a key player in the Irish market. He owns Brown Thomas and its a major shareholder in Penneys/Primark's parent company.
Arnotts reported sales of €114m in the year to the end of January 2015.
