Facebook added 'reactions' to its social media platform not that long ago. Up until recently, however, the options available to users were 'like, 'heart', 'haha', 'wow', 'sad' and 'angry'. The platform has now introduced a new option - 'pride'.

The rainbow flag has been added to mark Pride month for the LGBTQ community.

A spokesperson for the company said: “As Pride celebrations begin around the world, Facebook is proud to support our diverse community, including those that have identified themselves on Facebook as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender or gender non-conforming."

The reaction does not appear automatically on a user's feed. To access it, you must like this page.

The company has also created a profile picture frame with the pride colours.
