A tight race in Florida has the internet up in arms
It has been a long night for Hillary Clinton supporters as their candidate has faced grueling fights in a number of key states across the country.
Many of the states where polls closed earlier in the evening were breaking towards her Republican rival Donald Trump, and the key battleground state of Florida was the most notable of them.
Third-party votes seemed to play a big role, as they took votes from both candidates, forcing a very tight contest.
With 99% reporting in Florida, Clinton trails Trump by 135,296 votes. Gary Johnson + Jill Stein = 266,208— Byron Tau (@ByronTau) November 9, 2016
Online, people were worried with the early projections that showed that Trump was ahead in the Sunshine State, before it was eventually called in favour of the Republican candidate.
Social media was not pleased with the result, which widened the path for Donald Trump to win the White House.
