Dublin Fire Brigade say there was no one injured after two buses were set on fire in west Dublin.

Staff from Rathfarnham and Dolphin's Barn extinguished the two empty vehicles yesterday evening.

They were on fire off the Blessington Road - but the fire service say they were unoccupied at the time.

Meanwhile, five fire units and a water tanker were sent to a gorse fire in the Dublin Mountains last night.

The blaze was brought under control near Barnacullia in the early hours.

The first 999 calls about the blaze were received at 7.50pm, and it was extinguished by 1.40am.

Dublin Fire Brigade say they got "numerous 999 calls" in relation to the fire.

And the Dublin Fire Brigade also tackled a waste fire in the Ballycoolin area just before 10.00pm, with six units attending.
