Donald Trump took to the stage in New York with members of his campaign team to give a victory speech after being declared the 45th President of the United States.
Introducing the President-elect, his running mate Mike Pence said "I'm deeply grateful to the American people for placing their confidence in this team, and giving us the opportunity to serve. His leadership and vision will make America great again."
Taking to the stage, Trump opened by saying: "Sorry to keep you waiting, complicated business."
"I just received a call from Secretary Clinton," he stated. "She congratulated us - it's about us - on our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard fought campaign. She fought very hard.
"Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude to her service for our country," Trump added.
"Now it's time for America to bind the wounds of divisions, to get together. To all Republicans, Democrats and Independents across the country, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people.
"I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be President for all Americans, and this is so important to me. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past - of which there were a few people - I'm reaching out to you for your guidance and your help, so we can work together and unify our great nation."
Continuing to strike a tone of reconciliation, Trump said: "From the beginning, ours was not a campaign, but rather an incredible and great movement made up of millions of hard working men and women [...] who want a better future for themselves and for their family.
"Working together, we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation and renewing the American dream. I've spent my entire life in business looking at the untapped potential in people and projects all around the world. That is now what I want to do for our country."

Turning his attention to the time he will now spend in office, Trump said: "We have a great economic plan, we will double our growth and have the strongest economy anywhere in the world. At the same time, we will get along with all the other nations willing to get along with us.
"Nothing we want for our future is beyond our reach. America will no longer settle for anything less than the best, We must reclaim out country's destiny," Trump added.

Thanking his family who were present on stage, as well as his late brother and parents, Trump closed by stating that he would not let the American people down, and they would be proud that they made the decision to vote for him.
"I can only say, that while the campaign is over, our work and this movement is only just beginning. We're going to get to work immediately for the American people."
"I love this country," he said in closing, before briefly adding "and thank you to Mike Pence."
