The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have announced that their baby daughter is to be called Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
Kensington Palace tweeted that the baby will be known as: "Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge."
Bookmakers had originally said the favourite was 'Alice' after a flurry of last minute bets, knocking 'Charlotte' off the top spot.
The birth of the Royal princess was marked this afternoon by gun salutes across London.
As Big Ben chimed 2pm, 41 volleys rang out across the park fired by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery.
At the same time, the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) fired a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London - an extra 21 for the City of London.
The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery were accompanied by music from the Royal Artillery Band and their 71 horses pulled six First World War-era Ordnance Quick Fire 13-pounder field guns.
The custom is for gun salutes to be fired for the birth of every prince or princess, regardless of their place in the line of succession.
Prince Harry, who is now fifth in line to the throne, on Sunday described William and Kate's daughter as "absolutely beautiful."
He spoke about his niece from Australia where he has been working with the country's armed forces and said he could not "wait to meet her".
The Cambridges, who have thanked well-wishers for their support, are staying at Kensington Palace in London until they return to their home in Norfolk in the coming days.
Their new house, Anmer Hall, is on the Queen's Sandringham estate and allows them a large amount of privacy.
