Irish Middleweight contender Jason Quigley joined Off the Brawl this week to look back at the Alvarez-Golovkin fight at the weekend and he also spoke about what the future holds for himself.

'Canelo' Alvarez eeked out a controversial majority decision win in Las Vegas at the weekend which had pundits and fans split down the middle as to who won on the night.

Quigley however, believes the Mexican fighter came out on top and thinks Golovkin's time at the top of the sport might be coming to an end.

"Whenever I watched it, the more cleaner shots came from Canelo," he told Ronan. "I thought he had that more bit of sharpness in him. I thought he was a wee bit more effective and just for the 'looking-on' public as well - Golovkin was landing a few shots to the head but while he was doing that, Canelo was pounding the body with very powerful shots.

"I think a lot of people might not have seen that because I had to replay a few clips of the fight to actually see that myself and that's what actually wore Golovkin down throughout the fight as well.

"With Canelo's ferocious body work, you could definitely see Golovkin breath after and you wouldn't blame him if you got hit by one of them."

"Stripping it all back - I think Golovkin has seen his best days, I think they're behind him now.

"He definitely wasn't as sharp, he definitely didn't have the same snap or that power that was so devastating in all his other fights - I didn't see that in this fight.

"I saw him breathing a lot - I saw him wincing a lot and to be honest, I think Canelo got Golovkin at the perfect time. That 6 month ban, I think, worked in his favour.

"You know, six months at that age, at that level can mean the winning and losing a world title."
