The boxing world is fully focused on the clash of Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeaux this weekend.

This is the first time that two double-gold-medal-winning Olympians will square off in a world title fight and Madison Square Garden is due to host what Andy Lee expects to be one of the fights of the year.

Speaking to Ger Gilroy on OTB AM on Tuesday, the former middleweight title holder said: "It should be the biggest fight of the year. It's been a stellar year for us - it's probably been one of the best years in boxing that I can remember.

"From the start, we've had James DeGale against Badou Jack, Frampton-Santa Cruz and it just continued on, you know.

"There's been other fights...Klitschko-Joshua, Golovkin-Canelo and so on and so forth. You know, there's been a lot fights and this is up there with any of them. I'm not sure it will live up to the action in the ring because they're two highly skilled guys - they might cancel each other out a little bit...they can fight in any style they want. They can be aggressive and they can be boxers but I think it will be a highly skilled fight and I think this is a fight for the pure boxing fans.

"These are the two best amateurs that ever lived! He (Rigondeaux) fought Nonito Donaire, who as a two time world champion and he schooled him and that's been his problem - he's been too good.

"He's in that kind of, 'who needs him club?' He's not boring, because for me, I just like watching him because he's sensational the stuff he does. Now, he's not like a Golovkin where he'll be coming in all action - he stands back and he's slick.

"Same thing with Lomachenko, you can say the same thing as Lomachenko. The biggest thing between them now is the weight," he added.

The Cuban is moving up two weight classes to take on Lomachenko and Lee said: "He usually fights at 55 kilos and now he'll be fighting at 59 kilos - it doesn't seem like a lot but when you compare it as a percentage of their body weight - it's a lot at that weight."
