McDonald's has been on Grafton Street Dublin since 1977 and today it celebrates 37 years in business on their busiest day of the year.
Back then, Grafton Street had cars on it and people wanted a knife and fork, soup and couldn't understand why the burgers were served in paper and not on a plate.
Moncrieff show presenter Sean Moncrieff, who used to work in the Grafton Street branch back in the early 1980s, spoke about his time working at the fast food chain: "At the start there was the novelty you were getting free food to the amount of £2 punt. I used to hide two burgers under the tray, after a while once you had eaten everything on the menu you were sick of it."
However, the novelty soon wore off: "On a Saturday night you would meet the drunkest people you have ever met in your life, saying you are being exploited."
His career at McDonald's was fairly short-lived: "I was only there six weeks because there is a whole system and I walked off and the system ground to a halt and I remember getting into trouble over that. I couldn't stick it any more.
"Eventually, I left and they hounded me to get the uniform back. I can admit now I'm a fugitive, I never gave it back to them."
So does Sean still wear his uniform? " Occasionally sometimes after a few drinks... you never know..."
