Earlier today we wrote about the Breaking Bad / twerking video that went viral. As popular as that effort was, however, it was nothing compared to the attention ‘Worst Twerk Fail EVER - Girl Catches Fire!' received.

The name is fairly self-explanatory - a girl practicing her provocative dancing in a room falls over when the door is accidentally opened. She lands on a candle and her trousers are set on fire. The video, uploaded last week, has managed just shy of 10 million views - an accurate reflection of the Internet's general enthusiasm for both twerking and people falling over dramatically.

Some viewers were suspicious, though, especially since the video cuts off before the fire is put out. Was it just an act or a setup? The truth is something much more epic.

American talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has revealed that the video was indeed a complete fake. Not only that, Kimmel and his dastardly team were behind the whole thing. The reason the video cuts off so suddenly is because Kimmel himself runs into the room to put out the flames with a fire hydrant. The video’s star - ‘Caitlin Heller’ - is actually stunt performer Daphne Avalon.

The comedian maintains they didn’t even need to manipulate the spread of the video - they just uploaded it and let it take on a life of its own.

You can watch the big reveal below, which also includes clips of the various news programmes that reported the video as if it was a real thing. It even fooled Whoopi Goldberg (“I do believe the look on her face is panic”).

Whether the video was just a bit of fun or an experiment to prove how easily the Internet masses can be tricked or manipulated by a video doesn’t really matter. Jimmy Kimmel, one way or the other, has managed to successfully troll several million people.
