Most colleges boast impressive buildings or statues as their most unique architectural flourishes. Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, however, boasted a giant wrecking ball.

Students had long used the unusual sculpture to swing on and pose for videos and photos, as would likely be the case in any educational campus with a huge swing in the middle of it. In recent weeks, though, there has been a significant increase in such incidents as a result of the instantly infamous Miley Cyrus video for her single Wrecking Ball. One male student's nude parody of the same video has already gone viral.

Enough was enough for university authorities, who have opted to temporarily remove the offending artwork. Students have protested the removal, but the authorities are promising it will return once the whole Cyrus hype calms down and students are less inclined to film naked parodies on the swinging sculpture.
