Two people have been killed and a further five have been injured in a shooting in Washington DC.
Multiple people were shot at a recreational facility in north Washington early on Sunday morning, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Two were shot dead at the scene while five others were brought to local hospitals.

Police have identified a male suspect who left the scene on foot.
2023 was Washington DC’s deadliest year on record for violent crime, with gun attacks up by 55%, according to statistics from the Criminal Justice Co-ordinating Council for the District of Columbia.
