Former Leeds United and Ireland midfielder John Giles joined The Football Show to discuss Leeds United's chances of staying in the Premier League.

Leeds United face a massive task this weekend.

Leeds face Tottenham, which is not necessarily a major obstacle for anyone in most scenarios. But lying 19th in the league, two points behind Everton and behind Leicester on goal difference, Leeds face an uphill battle to stay in top-flight football.

Sam Allardyce has one point from a possible 12 since he took over the club. They've come close on occasion to big results, but repeatedly missed opportunities to climb out of the relegation places.

And John Giles believes that even though they've been close at times, they've shown nothing to suggest that they'll get the result they need on Sunday. Of course, it also doesn't matter what result they get if Leicester and/or Everton win.

"Everton and Sean Dyche are in a very strong position there," Giles said.

"I haven't seen anything from Leeds at all since Allardyce went there. West Ham last week beat them. He's got one point from 12. Last week's performance against West Ham was poor. West Ham beat them well and could have beaten them by more. So there's not much to look forward to in Leeds in hoping that they do it.

"But in football as you know, you never know what's going to happen. But if you were putting money on it now, you wouldn't put it on Leeds doing what needs to be done.

"But then again they're playing against Spurs...they've nothing to play for...what's their attitude going to be like?"
