Dublin's Grafton Street is historially known as the most expensive street in the fair city, but it's just as famous for the number and variety of buskers which take to the busy street every morning in the hopes of earning a few modest euro.

While all buskers are certainly not created equal - we're looking at you, guy who makes those giant bubbles and the lad who dresses up as Mickey Mouse - here are a few who you might consider giving some of your "loose change" to next time you're strolling down good ol' Grafton Street (minus the road works, obviously).

Brenda Malloy, harp player

Immediately unique and yet about as traditionally Irish as they come, Brenda Malloy has played the harp across the road from Trinity College since at least 2008. Here she's filmed performing on a cold Thursday in December:

Keywest

This Dublin-based pop-rock group have had mainstream success in Ireland including a peak at number two on iTunes with their debut album "The Message" and selling out a headline tour last year. The boys always draw a big crowd when they perform on Grafton Street, usually at weekends.

Invisible Naked Man

Lazy or ingenious? One of the latest additions to Grafton Street busking, the Invisible Naked Man has proved surprisingly popular if the large numer of donations we saw are anything to go by. Maybe everyone else can see something we can't?

Ryan Sheridan, singer-songwriter

Before Monaghan-born Ryan Sheridan got a recording contract he busked on the streets of Dublin like the rest of them. The 31-year-old has so far released 2 albums and recently made his first appearance on German TV.

Sandy the Dog

We're not sure of the artist's name, but we think his resilience in sculpting the same dog out of sand again and again automatically warrants him a place on our list.

Old Men in Black

Like a lot of other buskers on Grafton Street these guys don't do very much, but that's part of their charm. They wear masks, which makes it impossible to tell how old they really are - or whether they're even male - but the ould fellas deserve at least something for standing still for hours on end.

Luke Slott, Pianist

Easily our top pick, Luke Slott got the idea to bring his piano to Grafton Street a decade ago when he saw a man do it in Paris. He has been playing music for the past 15 years and was recently the subject of a short documentary by a group of Multimedia students from Dublin City University:
