Peter McVerry A View from the Basement, Tuesday, RTE1, 10.15pm

Jesuit priest Peter McVerry has worked for forty years as a human rights activist, and this hour long documentary looks back on his work, fighting the ever more difficult battle against addiction and homelessness in Dublin.


The Night Of, Thursday, Sky Atlantic, 21.00pm (Episode 2) (Downloadable on Sky Box sets)

Based on Peter Moffat’s series Criminal Justice, this eight-part series follows the police investigation and legal proceedings of a New York City murder, and the life behind bars of chief suspect Naz - a strait-laced Pakistani-American.

The loveable duo travel around across continents in a quest to find and cook the finest egg and chicken recipe that the world has to offer. Plenty to be learned from this show, including the method behind the perfect roast chicken and what it takes to make a Michelin-starred chicken soup.

Sean Penn stars as Cheyenne, a retired rockstar who hides away in his Dublin manager with his wife after two of his young fans commit suicide. Following his estranged Jewish father's death, he travels around America in search of the Auschwitz guard who had persecuted him during World War II.
