But British-Iranian Omid Djalili is not only an award-winning comedian, he’s also a serious actor - appearing in Hollywood blockbusters such as ‘Gladiator’ and ‘The Mummy’ as well as treading the boards in London’s West End.

Omid has once again brought his talents to the theatre - his latest role is the iconic character of ‘Red’ in the stage adaptation of ‘The Shawshank Redemption’. Following a hugely successful run at last month’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the plays opens tonight in Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre.
