The video is promoting a not-for-profit website that aims to use pornography to fund a variety of charitable causes by providing a platform for non-commercialised sexual content while respecting “our rights as consumers”.

The website, due to launch soon, is described by its owners as “a place to rethink the relationship between the Internet and sexuality: its global impact, role, form and scope. Come4.org is a platform where pornography can be used to generate aid for ethical causes in a completely transparent format.”

Asta Philpot

The video is narrated by disabled-rights activist Asta Philpot, who is wheelchair-bound as a result of arthrogryposis. Philpot lost his virginity in a Spanish brothel in 2006, and the following year returned with two other disabled men who also wanted to have a sexual encounter. The trio’s trip was filmed by the BBC for a documentary called One Night Only. Philpot recounts some of his experiences in brothels in the new video.

Through his own foundation, Philpot has campaigned for disabled people to be granted the opportunity for an active sexual life, even if it requires the legislation of prostitution in the UK. Although he acknowledges the current dangers posed to many sex workers, Philpot tells The Guardian that he thinks if prostitution was made more open and properly legislated for, “women wouldn't be forced into it because it would be properly governed”.

Yesterday, the new video from David Bowie – containing provocative religious imagery, violence and brief nudity – disappeared from YouTube temporarily. However, the controversial video has since re-appeared.
