Roma have warned Manchester United that Kevin Strootman will not be allowed to leave the club.
The 24-year-old Dutch midfielder has been linked with a January move to Old Trafford, where he would link up with his former Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal.
But Roma's owner, James Pallotta insists that even a bid of €95 million would not tempt them to sell one of their key players.
"I have told the papers that they should stop wasting paper. We don't have any interest in selling Kevin," he said.
Strootman has yet to return from a serious knee injury which ruled him out of the World Cup and forced Van Gaal to switch from a 4-3-3 to a 3-5-2 in Brazil to compensate for his absence.
