At 30 years of age, Cristiano Ronaldo is under no illusions about the number of miles he has accumulated and is now making practical considerations about his professional future. 

Speaking to a German football magazine earlier this week, the Real Madrid star who is contracted to remain at the club until 2018, revealed that he would like to play soccer in America some day while rumours regarding a move to Paris Saint-Germain continue to hover around. He said:

'Right now, I play for Real Madrid, but you never know. You have to do whatever makes you happy. You never know what happens tomorrow. I can only say that I will always give it my all for my club and my country.

Unsurprisingly, a move back to Old Trafford continues to draw speculation. Patrice Evra revealed last weekend that Ronaldo's return was on the cusp of completion in 2013 but Alex Ferguson's retirement closed off all chances of the Portuguese striker reuniting with the club.

Ronaldo, however continues to speak fondly of his days with the Red Devils which suggests that the move could still materialse. 

'There I was treated in the same way as a son is treated by a father. I had some incredible moments. I'm still in touch with [Rio] Ferdinand, Nani, Anderson, [Nemanja] Vidic, Evra ... and with [Ryan] Giggs, who is now the assistant manager. I have some amazing memories.'

The three time Premier League winner also confirmed that he is considering a move to MLS soccer before ending his career.

'I'm definitely thinking about playing in the USA for a year. I've always said living and playing there is a possibility.'
