The recent African Cup of Nations qualifier between Cameroon and Ivory Coast was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

With a draw guaranteeing first place in the group for Cameroon and second for Ivory Coast, both seemed content to play for a draw, with a Yaya Toure free-kick on 57 minutes being the only meaningful chance on goal.

By extra-time, both teams had given up the pretense of playing football, with Ivory Coast tapping the ball between defenders without any Cameroon players leaving their own half.

As if that weren't enough of a black spot on the game, Ivorian fans stormed the pitch, fought with police and (in one case) tried to remove Gervinho's shorts.

Ivory Coast may face sanctions for the incident, which is likely to be addressed at a Confederation of African Football committee on December 1, according to one official.

Thankfully there was no repeat of the 'Disgrace of Gijón', and Democratic Republic of Congo were able to qualify as the best-ranked third-place team.
