The Kansas City Chiefs won the World Series on Sunday night, defeating the New York Mets 4-1 in the best of seven games series.

It is only the second World Series win in Royals' history and first since 1985. Despite going into the series as underdogs and losing in five games, the New York Mets may feel it was a title that got away.

In three of the four games the New York side lost, they led in the eighth inning and looked on course for victory. The first game was eventually lost in Kansas in the 14th inning with the deciding game being decided in the 12th inning.

Sports Reporter with the New York Times David Waldstein spoke to Off the Ball last night about the series and how it has effected the Mets.

The Mets "were a real underdog" according to Waldstein "with the whole thing falling apart" as the Series progressed. He feels the season was a success despite losing the Fall Classic.

"This is a really positive season for the Mets". He called it a "feel good season" for the Queens side.
